Jerusalem, 3 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the 7th Armored Brigade Combat Team completed eight months of targeted operations in southern Lebanon aimed at neutralizing cross-border security threats.
Operating in the Wadi Saluki, Qantara, and Litani river sectors, troops eliminated approximately 400 Hezbollah operatives and seized hundreds of weapons.
Working alongside the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit, forces destroyed about 3,500 terror infrastructure targets. Key targets included extensive subterranean networks described by the military as “cities of refuge”—fortified underground strongholds constructed by Hezbollah using Iranian funding.
IDF officials emphasized that the multi-month campaign successfully dismantled critical Hezbollah staging areas, neutralizing immediate offensive capabilities directed against northern Israeli communities and securing strategic sectors along the northern border.
