Jerusalem, 26 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the “Yashar! with Eisenkot” party and former IDF Chief of Staff, responded to recent rumors that Israel’s military leader will be replaced after the elections by asserting that Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir will complete his tenure strictly according to the law.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s national elections, Eisenkot declared that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “will end his tenure immediately following the election results,” promising the swift formation of a new government.
Eisenkot urged citizens to vote for leadership prioritizing national security over political interests. “Tomorrow, the people of Israel will elect a Prime Minister whose considerations will always be for the benefit of Israel, who will never act out of political interests at the expense of Israel’s security and IDF soldiers,” he stated.
