New 4-Lane Bridge Opens, Boosting Traffic Flow and Safety for Western Binyamin
The new Nahal Modi’im Bridge on Route 446 has opened, improving traffic flow and safety for thousands of drivers in western Binyamin.
Jerusalem, 27 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The new Nahal Modi’im Bridge on Route 446, between Modi’in-Maccabim-Re’ut and Modi’in Illit, has opened to traffic. The new bridge is expected to improve travel for residents of Western Binyamin and the tens of thousands of drivers who use the road every day.
The bridge has two lanes in each direction, replacing the temporary bypass used during construction. The upgrade is designed to reduce traffic, shorten travel times, and improve road safety.
The bridge is part of a larger Transportation Ministry and Netivei Israel project to widen regional highway 446.
