Jerusalem, 23 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — An El Al flight from Tel Aviv to New York made an emergency landing in Paris early Friday after a crew member became unwell during the flight.
Flight LY027 departed Ben-Gurion Airport at around 1 a.m. and landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport at approximately 5:30 a.m. The medical incident delayed the journey, leaving insufficient time to continue across the Atlantic before the Sabbath.
El Al is arranging alternative travel for stranded passengers. Those wishing to reach New York before the Sabbath begins will be placed on flights operated by other airlines departing Paris.
Passengers who prefer to continue exclusively with El Al and avoid flying on the Sabbath will receive hotel accommodations near the airport and board a replacement flight Saturday night.
The airline said it remains in contact with affected passengers and has opened a dedicated service line to coordinate assistance and travel arrangements.
