Jerusalem, 6 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police revealed on Monday that, on March 26, a 21-year-old resident of Jerusalem was arrested on suspicion of committing security offenses involving contact and Espionage on behalf of Iranian intelligence elements.

According to the police, during the year 2025 he carried out a series of tasks that included gathering information and visual documentation of various areas in Israeli territory, as well as purchasing photography equipment and means, all while being aware that he was acting on behalf of a hostile entity and doing so in exchange for money, which he received via digital currency.

“This is another case that illustrates the Iranian enemy’s method of operation, which involves recruiting Israeli citizens through the network while exploiting digital platforms to provide instructions and transfer payments via cryptocurrencies,” said the police.
