Jerusalem, 25 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israir Airlines CEO Uri Sirkis says thousands of Israelis living abroad are returning to Israel ahead of Tuesday’s Knesset election, reflecting a noticeable increase in travel demand linked to voting.

“In recent days, we have witnessed a clear trend at Ben-Gurion Airport,” Sirkis wrote on LinkedIn Saturday night. “The number of passengers arriving in Israel is greater than the number of passengers leaving the country.”

According to Sirkis, Israel Airports Authority data show that over the past two weeks, approximately 26,000 passengers have departed Ben-Gurion Airport daily, compared with 32,000 arriving passengers.

“Behind these figures are Israelis choosing to return home, sometimes from thousands of miles away, to take part in the election and exercise their democratic right to vote,” Sirkis wrote. “This is inspiring evidence of commitment, a sense of belonging and responsibility.”
