Jerusalem, 12 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Tourism and Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) signed an agreement to improve tourism research, data sharing and policymaking.

The memorandum of understanding, signed by Tourism Ministry Director-General Michael Izhakov and National Statistician Yaron Felus, establishes regular data-sharing procedures, joint research projects and annual work plans. The cooperation will cover international visitor arrivals, hotel development and occupancy, tourism infrastructure, employment and short-term rentals. It also aims to standardize statistical definitions and improve access to reliable, up-to-date information.

The agreement is intended to support evidence-based tourism planning and marketing amid fluctuations driven by global and security-related events. Data exchanges will use secure systems in accordance with Israeli privacy and statistical laws.
