Jerusalem, 7 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — JERUSALEM — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics released flash estimates Wednesday showing a year-over-year rise in average gross monthly salaries for August 2026 alongside a slight month-over-month dip in salaried positions.
The overall average gross employee salary reached 14,121 shekels ($3,815), marking a 4.0% increase from August 2025 (13,579 shekels). For Israeli workers, average monthly pay rose 4.2% annually to 14,448 shekels ($3,903).
Total salaried jobs stood at 4.423 million, reflecting an 1.8% annual expansion despite a 2.0% seasonal decline from July 2026. Salaried positions held by Israeli nationals totaled 4.158 million, up 0.9% year-over-year but down 2.2% compared to the previous month.
