Military Intercepts 14 Israeli Civilians Crossing Border into Syria

Jerusalem, 22 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — GOLAN HEIGHTS — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) safely returned 14 Israeli civilians to domestic territory after they illegally crossed the Northern border into Syria near Alonei Habashan, military officials said.
IDF troops deployed immediately to the sector, located the group, and escorted them back across the border. Security forces subsequently handed the detainees over to the Israel Police for legal processing and interrogation.
The military issued a strong condemnation of the breach, stating that such unauthorized actions severely disrupt operational activities and place responding soldiers in direct danger.
IDF officials urged civilian law enforcement authorities to prosecute those involved, citing the criminal offense and calling for strict measures to prevent recurring border violations.
