The IDF eliminated two terrorists, a Hamas commander involved in abductions and an Islamic Jihad commander, who infiltrated Israel on October 7.
Jerusalem, 1 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF eliminated two terrorists who infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre in separate airstrikes earlier this week, the military announced.
Both terrorists had recently carried out attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians, systematically violating the ceasefire. The strikes were carried out from the air to eliminate the threats, with precautions taken to minimize civilian casualties, including precision weapons and aerial surveillance.
In Gaza City, the IDF killed Mohammed Jamal Mahmoud Abu al-Sha’ar, a Hamas military wing cell commander who infiltrated Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7 and participated in the abduction of six Israelis to Gaza: Sharon Hertman-Avigdori, Noam Avigdori, Adi Shoham, Naveh Shoham, Yahel Shoham, and Shoshan Haran.
In a separate strike in Jabaliya, the IDF killed Musab Abdel-Galil Saqab Balbeisi, a commander in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s military wing, who also infiltrated Israel during the massacre.
