IDF Eliminates Two Hamas Commanders in Gaza
The IDF eliminated Hamas commanders Rafat Abu Zamar and Muhammad Agour in Gaza, targeting their roles in training and weapons development.
Jerusalem, 15 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF struck in the Khan Younis area on Monday, killing Rafat Abu Zamar, a company commander in the operations headquarters of Hamas’s military wing.
Abu Zamar was promoted and led training for Hamas military operatives ahead of the October 7 massacre and continued recently to train operatives and develop the organization’s combat capabilities.
In a separate strike in Gaza City, the IDF killed Muhammad Khader Fahmi Agour, a Hamas military-wing operative involved in manufacturing weapons for the organization.
The IDF said the two operatives had recently advanced terrorist attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians while working to restore Hamas’s capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire. They were killed to eliminate the threat they posed.
Before and during the strikes, measures were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
