Jerusalem, 15 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Forty-two Haredi soldiers serving in the Hasmonean Brigade’s combat-support company completed their military training this week in a ceremony at the brigade’s base.
During the event, the soldiers pledged allegiance to the State of Israel and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), marking the completion of their training and the beginning of their service in various roles.
The training program was adapted to accommodate the soldiers’ Haredi lifestyle, including strictly kosher food, designated time for Torah study and prayer, and a gender-sensitive environment.
The graduates are expected to take up a range of combat-support positions within the Hasmonean Brigade and join additional Haredi service tracks in the IDF. The program is part of the military’s effort to provide frameworks that enable Haredi recruits to serve while maintaining their religious way of life.
