Jerusalem, 11 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to attend the Jerusalem District Court on Sunday as former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit begins testifying as a defense witness in Netanyahu’s corruption trial, nearly seven years after deciding to indict him.
The testimony is expected to focus on whether police investigators conducted searches and other investigative actions without the required authorization from the AG, as required by law.
Netanyahu’s lawyers, Amit Hadad and Noa Milstein, are expected to challenge Mandelblit over approvals for the investigations and the methods used against state witness Nir Hefetz. Hefetz previously described intense pressure during his interrogation but said the interrogation tactics did not influence his decision to become a state witness.
Prosecutors maintain that the investigations were lawful and properly authorized.
Mandelblit has been summoned for up to seven days of testimony, although the court has not yet confirmed that all seven sessions will take place.
