Police Complete Preparations at Cave of the Patriarchs for Sukkot Intermediate Days

Jerusalem, 27 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — JERUSALEM — Israeli security forces have finalized comprehensive operational plans to secure tens of thousands of visitors expected at the Cave of the Patriarchs and the Jewish community in Hebron during the Sukkot intermediate days, September 28–30.
Judea and Samaria District Police Commander Maj. Gen. Moshe Pinchi approved the deployment plan alongside Border Police and Israel Defense Forces (IDF) units. Large-scale forces will focus on maintaining public order, counter-terrorism defense, and regulating heavy traffic along main access corridors.
Authorities emphasized that security measures aim to facilitate safe access for worshippers and visitors while preserving daily routines for regional residents and managing crowd control throughout the high-volume holiday events.
