Israels National Transplant Center: Four Families Consent to Organ Donation in Four Days 14 Transplants Performed Over Holiday
Four families consented to organ donation during Sukkot, enabling 14 life-saving transplants across major Israeli hospitals from September 27-30, 2026.
Jerusalem, 27 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — TEL AVIV — Israel’s National Transplant Center completed 14 organ transplants over four days during the Sukkot holiday, following organ donation consents from four families across Sheba, Shaare Zedek, Rambam, and Soroka medical centers.
Surgical teams executed life-saving procedures across major hospitals, including Hadassah, Sheba, Beilinson, Schneider Children’s, and Ichilov, transplanting heart, lung, liver, and kidney organs.
National Transplant Center Director Dr. Tamar Ashkenazi praised the donor families and medical staff, stating: “I am filled with gratitude for the bereaved families who, in their hardest hour, thought of others to save lives. Our medical teams worked around the clock, leaving holiday tables to perform organ retrievals and transplants.”
