Jerusalem, 14 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A 44-year-old Ashkelon Resident allegedly infected hundreds of computers at dozens of businesses and private homes with malware, remotely accessing victims’ devices and stealing sensitive information between 2020 and his arrest on August 18, 2026, Israeli authorities said Monday.

Police said the suspect remotely accessed victims’ computers, capturing thousands of screenshots and recordings, activating cameras and microphones, downloading files and stealing passwords, credit card details and other sensitive information. Investigators also found recordings of minors, including images of victims while naked.

Nearly 60 victims and incident-response companies provided testimony. Police said financial losses exceeded NIS 2 million shekels ($650,000).
