Jerusalem, 6 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel Police are preparing for a stormy weekend, with heavy rainfall expected from Friday morning through Sunday and a risk of localized flooding, particularly in the Sharon, Greater Tel Aviv and Judean Foothills.
Rain is expected to spread across central and northern Israel, with thunderstorms and additional showers reaching the northern Negev. The heaviest rainfall is forecast for Saturday, with significant flooding possible along the coastal plain and in low-lying urban areas.
Flash floods are also possible in streams near the Dead Sea and northern Arava. Police will deploy additional personnel along major roads and in flood-prone areas, warning motorists to avoid unnecessary travel and hikers to stay away from streams and potentially flooded routes.
Authorities stressed that flooded roads and waterways must never be crossed on foot or by vehicle.
The rain is expected to gradually weaken on Sunday.
