TPS: Israels Energy Sector Holds Large-Scale Cyberattack Preparedness Exercise
Israel's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure tested its readiness for a large-scale cyberattack on the nation's energy sector during a recent exercise.
Jerusalem, 14 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure held an extensive tabletop exercise last week simulating a large-scale cyberattack on the country’s energy sector, amid growing global concern over cyber threats to critical infrastructure.
The exercise, led by the ministry’s Emergency, Security and Cyber Division in collaboration with cyber crisis management firm Code Blue, brought together roughly 100 representatives from bodies including the National Cyber Directorate, the Israel Electric Corporation, the Israel Natural Gas Corporation, and Noga Company.
Participants responded in real time to an escalating scenario that grew into a simulated National Cyber crisis, testing coordination across technological, operational, and managerial functions.
