Jerusalem, 6 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Credit card spending in Israel hit a record NIS 53.25 billion ($17.3 billion) in September, up 6.2% from NIS 50.13 billion ($16.3 billion) a year earlier, according to Automatic Bank Services Limited (SHVA).
Average daily spending reached a record NIS 1.775 billion ($576 million), 1.7% higher than August and marking the fourth consecutive month above NIS 1.7 billion ($552 million).
The increase came as all of the Jewish holidays fell in September this year, including a full week of Chol Hamoed (Sukkot intermediary days).
Online spending totaled NIS 30.96 billion ($10.1 billion), up 5.5%, with daily online spending reaching NIS 1.032 billion ($335 million). Supermarket spending rose to NIS 6.64 billion ($2.16 billion), while restaurants, cafes and fast food reached NIS 3.64 billion ($1.18 billion).
