Jerusalem, 5 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — JERUSALEM — Tens of thousands of holiday pilgrims gathered in Jerusalem’s Jewish Quarter during Chol HaMoed Sukkot, honoring ancient pilgrimage traditions at the Western Wall.

To accommodate visitors, the Ministry of Jerusalem and Jewish Tradition and the Jewish Quarter Development Company constructed the world’s largest “Chazon Ish” Sukkah in the historic Hurva Synagogue plaza. Spanning 444 square meters, the structure was built under strict rabbinical supervision using specialized roofing materials.

Additionally, authorities opened an accessible, wheel-chair friendly rooftop observation platform at Yeshivat HaKotel. Offering panoramic views of the Temple Mount, the new vantage point accommodates hundreds of visitors concurrently without entry queues as part of nationwide festival programming.
