Jerusalem, 6 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Ahead of the third anniversary of the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attack, the Israel Tax Authority released data showing that the state has paid approximately NIS 38.3 billion ($12.4 billion) in compensation to individuals and businesses affected by the war.
The Property Tax Compensation Fund has processed about 168,000 claims for Direct Damage to buildings, vehicles, property and infrastructure, paying approximately NIS 8.3 billion ($2.7 billion). Compensation has also covered lost rental income and temporary accommodation for evacuees.
A further 1 million claims for indirect economic damage have resulted in approximately NIS 30 billion ($9.7 billion) in payments to businesses through various compensation tracks, according to Tax Authority data.
