Jerusalem, 12 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has unveiled HawkGuard, a new active defense system designed to intercept hostile drones and other aerial threats without explosive warheads.

Introduced at the Association of the United States Army’s annual exhibition in Washington, DC, the system combines radar, electro-optical sensors, and artificial intelligence-powered command and control with interceptor drones that neutralize targets through direct physical impact.

IAI said HawkGuard recently completed a series of successful tests demonstrating its ability to detect, track and intercept various drone threats. Its compact, modular design allows deployment on armored vehicles and other mobile platforms, as well as at fixed installations, strategic infrastructure and offshore facilities.

The system adds a kinetic interception capability to IAI’s broader, multilayered counter-drone architecture, which also incorporates detection, identification and electronic warfare.

The company has not disclosed detailed performance figures or confirmed customer orders.
