Jerusalem, 20 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli defense giant Elbit Systems has completed its acquisition of International Submarine Engineering (ISE), a Canadian company specializing in autonomous underwater vehicles and remotely operated systems. The purchase price was described as “not material to Elbit.”
Headquartered near Vancouver, ISE develops and manufactures underwater vehicles, computer control systems and robotics. With more than 50 years of experience in underwater robotics, the company has delivered over 250 underwater vehicles to customers in more than 20 countries.
Elbit said the acquisition would expand its capabilities in underwater intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, mine countermeasures, and anti-submarine warfare. The deal strengthens Elbit’s broader naval portfolio, which includes unmanned surface vessels, sonar, electronic warfare and command-and-control systems.
CEO Bezhalel “Butzi” Machlis said the acquisition advances Elbit’s strategy to expand its naval offerings and strengthen its position in integrated maritime defense solutions.
