Jerusalem, 6 November, 2026 (TPS-IL) — IDF Central Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth has ordered the military to stop notifying Palestinian Authority security forces ahead of arrest raids, weapons searches, and other operations in PA-controlled villages, citing concerns that the information is being leaked to terrorists.
Palestinian officers reportedly pass advance warnings to terrorists, allowing them to hide weapons and evade arrest.
Military officials say the new protocol has already resulted in an increase in weapons seized during operations.
The decision followed allegations by right-wing activist Elisha Yered, who reported seeing IDF forces preparing to enter villages near Deir Dibwan along Route 60. Minutes later, a local Arab Telegram channel published details of the planned operation, including the forces’ route, before soldiers entered the villages.
The IDF says advance-notification procedures had been allowed to erode over time, prompting Bluth to reinforce existing restrictions and clarify when Palestinian forces should not be notified.
