An investigation into suspected infiltration of anesthetic substances into fruit purees for infants has been completed. Following a complex and thorough investigation by Jerusalem District investigators, a statement of claim will be filed today against the suspect, Yan.

As part of the investigative effort, which included the General Security Service, investigators watched and analyzed hundreds of hours of footage from security cameras at various locations, conducted thorough and diverse investigative actions, and utilized advanced technological means. The combination of investigative and technological capabilities, alongside the persistence of the unit’s investigators, led to a breakthrough, during which investigators revealed the identity of the suspect, Yan Shamla (41), a resident of Beersheba. Following the revelation of his identity, the unit’s detectives and investigators covertly tracked the suspect’s actions, lifestyle, places of activity, and daily routine over a period, until the evidentiary foundation was established, leading to his arrest at his home and his transfer for investigation. Today, a statement of claim will be filed against the suspect, along with a request for his continued detention until the indictment is filed.
