Jerusalem, 11 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s digital bank ONE ZERO announced Sunday that it will lay off approximately 25 to 30 employees, representing up to 10% of its workforce, as it seeks to reduce costs and achieve profitability.

CEO Eyal Gafni attributed the restructuring partly to advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and automation, which allow the bank to streamline operations and grow without proportionately increasing staffing and expenses.

The bank will also leave approximately 10 additional positions unfilled.

The announcement comes as ONE ZERO reports improving financial results. In the First Half of 2026, revenue rose 33% to NIS 66 million ($21.6 million), while operating expenses fell 10% to NIS 149 million ($48.9 million). Its net loss narrowed 27% to NIS 84 million ($27.5 million).

With more than 200,000 customers, the bank is targeting its first profitable month by year-end and annual profitability in 2027.
