Jerusalem, 14 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Apple has allocated only about 500 units of its first foldable smartphone to the Israeli market in the initial launch wave, according to industry sources cited by Israeli media. The allocation represents the total stock earmarked for Israel, to be divided among all authorized importers, retail chains and cellular operators.
As a result, each distributor is expected to receive only a few dozen devices, with some retail chains reportedly receiving fewer than 20 units. The limited allocation is expected to create an immediate supply shortage when sales open.
Apple’s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, opens like a book, with a 5.4-inch external display and a 7.6-inch internal screen. International prices are expected to start at $1,999, while Israeli prices could exceed NIS 12,000 ($3,874), depending on the model. Preorders are scheduled to open Friday, October 16, at 3 p.m., with deliveries beginning October 23.
