JERUSALEM, 7 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — JERUSALEM — Israel’s foreign exchange reserves stood at $236.998 billion at the end of September 2026, marking a decrease of $4.643 billion from the previous month, the Bank of Israel reported Wednesday.

Despite the monthly contraction, the reserves remain robust, representing 34.2% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). According to the central bank, the monthly decline was primarily driven by a negative market revaluation of existing reserve assets totaling approximately $4.411 billion.

Routine foreign exchange activities conducted by the Israeli government further contributed to the decline, accounting for an additional reduction of roughly $272 million. Financial analysts continue to track reserve levels amid ongoing macroeconomic adjustments.
