Jerusalem, 13 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The U.S. dollar rose to NIS 3.082 on Tuesday, while the euro traded at approximately NIS 3.44, as the American currency remained near its highest global level in 18 months.
The dollar’s representative exchange rate stood at NIS 3.078, following a 0.75% gain on Monday.
Despite the dollar’s international strength, the shekel has remained relatively resilient.
Analysts attribute the dollar’s global performance to elevated U.S. Treasury yields, strong demand for safe-haven assets, and geopolitical risks following attacks on energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and Ukraine.
The euro has weakened amid uncertainty surrounding France’s fiscal outlook.
Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund raised its forecast for Israel’s economic growth in 2026 to 4.5%. Investors are awaiting Israel’s September inflation figures and the Bank of Israel’s October 21 interest-rate decision, which could influence the shekel’s direction.
