Jerusalem, 28 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Shin Bet and Israel Police have arrested two Israeli suspects accused of planning attacks inspired by the Islamic State (ISIS), with indictments filed by the Haifa District Attorney’s Office.

The suspects are a 16-year-old from the Galilee and 19-year-old Ibrahim Kaabia from Haifa.

According to the allegations, both pledged allegiance to ISIS after consuming extremist content online.

The 16-year-old allegedly searched the internet for instructions on making explosive belts and planned an attack targeting police and soldiers on the Temple Mount.

Kaabia allegedly planned a separate attack against an IDF military base in northern Israel. Authorities said the arrests prevented the suspected plots from advancing further.

Prosecutors have asked the court to keep both suspects in custody until the conclusion of their legal proceedings.
