Jerusalem, 25 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Terrorists serving time at Lavi Prison had been saving what little food they could spare: a spoonful of jam, a slice of bread, for several days, to fashion an improvised cake and celebrate on Tuesday if National Security Minister and Otzma Yehudit chairman Itamar Ben-Gvir loses the national elections.
“But the excellent Israel Prison Service commissioner and his staff discovered the cake,” Otzma Yehudit reported on X Sunday evening. “The prisoners faced disciplinary proceedings and were transferred to solitary confinement.”
Since taking office, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir implemented a strict policy aimed at reducing the living standards of Palestinian security prisoners. These measures accelerated significantly following the October 2023 “Swords of Iron” war under an emergency prison declaration.
