21 Illegal Residents Arrested in Foiled Infiltration in Southern Israel

Jerusalem, 26 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Border Police forces thwarted an attempted infiltration in the south near Moshav Shekef over the past few days, arresting 21 illegal residents and a suspected smuggler. Soldiers identified a breach in a rainwater drainage crossing and prepared a targeted operation following intelligence warnings of an impending incursion.

During the night, troops detected suspects entering through the crossing and set up roadblocks. A suspicious vehicle carrying six individuals was stopped, and all occupants were detained. Subsequent searches, aided by a drone, led to the arrest of 15 additional suspects in the area.

All detainees, along with the suspected transporter, a man in his 40s from eastern Jerusalem, were transferred for further investigation.
