Jerusalem, 1 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Education Minister Yoav Kish, Minister David Amsalem, and Israel Atomic Energy Commission Director-General Moshe Edri inaugurated a new youth science education program, “Momentum for Science,” at the Soreq Nuclear Research Center.
Initiated by the research center under the Atomic Energy Commission, the program will mentor students from 7th to 12th grade in science, with a strong focus on physics. In cooperation with the Yavne Municipality and the Schwartz/Reisman Foundation for Science Education, students from Yavne and surrounding councils will study advanced physics at a dedicated science center to be established at the facility, with select students participating in research at the commission’s laboratories to complete an advanced physics track.
The initiative aims to expand the number of youth completing tech-oriented matriculation diplomas.
