Jerusalem, 9 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel National Biotech Innovation Center (INBI) began operations Tuesday, bringing together 15 Israeli academic, medical and healthcare institutions in an effort to move biomedical research from the laboratory toward new therapies.
The initiative brings together institutions including the Weizmann Institute of Science, Tel Aviv University, the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and Sheba Medical Center. INBI said it will provide selected research programs with drug-development expertise, infrastructure and funding, while seeking to facilitate investment and commercialization.
Anat Cohen-Dayag, PhD, executive chair of Compugen, was appointed CEO of INBI Core, the nonprofit center’s wholly owned operational arm. Samuel Moed, a former Bristol Myers Squibb executive, was named chair of INBI and INBI Core.
