Jerusalem, 20 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Chief Rabbinate certified 82 specialized personnel and administered written qualifying examinations to 346 candidates ahead of the winter slaughter season as part of a national effort to expand the global kosher meat supply chain.
Led by Chief Rabbi Kalman Meir Ber and Acting Director-General Yehuda Avidan, the certification drive approved 31 ritual slaughterers, 40 internal and external organ inspectors, and 11 team leaders following practical testing.
The expansion aims to facilitate the deployment of certified inspection delegations to global livestock suppliers, streamline international supply operations, and reduce processing overhead.
Authorities expect the increased supply of qualified personnel to lower retail prices for kosher meat products domestically and internationally.
