Jerusalem, 7 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Ofri Bibas, whose sister-in-law Shiri and nephews Ariel and Kfir were kidnapped on October 7 and murdered in Hamas captivity, sharply criticized the Israeli government during a Foreign Ministry memorial event on Wednesday marking three years since the massacre.

Speaking before about 100 foreign ambassadors and diplomats, Bibas criticized the government’s failure to establish a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 disaster, calling it “an escape from responsibility.” According to Israeli media, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar appeared embarrassed by the attack.

Bibas said accountability must be both Israeli and international, so that another catastrophe does not occur and children do not become victims of terrorism.

Sa’ar also addressed the gathering, calling October 7 an act of barbarism and the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. He criticized international pressure on Israel and warned of growing antisemitism worldwide.
