Jerusalem, 29 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Saturday’s violence in the Palestinian villages of Qusra and Jalud, saying a small group of Israeli rioters harmed the reputation of law-abiding settlers, interfered with the IDF and damaged Israel’s international standing.

Settler residents gave a different account, saying dozens of masked Arab rioters from Qusra, accompanied by foreign journalists, threw stones, blocked roads and occupied an abandoned building. Six rioters were detained but released about an hour later.

Israeli residents accused the media and the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit of distorting the incident and using the Sabbath to portray Jewish residents negatively.
