Jerusalem, 11 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Likud MK Avichay Boaron expressed deep concern after United Torah Judaism (UTJ) MK Yitzhak Pindrus suggested that Haredi politicians might support Yashar! Chairman Gadi Eisenkot.

Boaron described the possibility as “very worrying,” reflecting Likud’s concern that the Haredi parties, traditionally aligned with the right-wing bloc, could consider political alternatives.

The remarks come amid growing tensions between the coalition and Haredi parties over legislation to regulate military exemptions for yeshiva students, government funding, and religious affairs.

Any shift in Haredi political support toward Eisenkot, a leading figure in the center-left opposition bloc, could complicate efforts to maintain a unified right-wing bloc ahead of the October 27 Knesset election.

Pindrus’s comments have raised questions about whether frustration with the coalition could translate into a broader political realignment among Haredi parties.
