Jerusalem, 2 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Central Elections Committee Chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg rejected a petition Tuesday seeking to prohibit the free distribution of “The Minister Who Didn’t Stop,” an illustrated rhyming children’s book about National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
The Movement for Quality Government in Israel had filed the petition Monday, alleging three violations of the Elections Law (Propaganda Methods), 5719-1959: that the book constitutes election propaganda distributed as a gift; that it improperly involves children in election propaganda; and that it uses public assets in election propaganda, since the cover features an illustration of the Attorney General and a police car.
Sohlberg requested a response solely on the gift-giving issue and, after receiving replies from Ben-Gvir and the Otzma Yehudit party, rejected the petition Tuesday morning.
