Jerusalem, 2 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security situation assessment in the Gaza Division on Wednesday afternoon and visited an IDF (Israel Defense Forces) outpost near the Yellow Line in the Gaza Strip, alongside IDF Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir.

He received a briefing from field commanders on IDF activity in the Yellow Line area, operational missions in the sector, and efforts to remove threats and secure both forces and Israeli communities near Gaza.

“We are in control of the area and we are staying on this line,” Netanyahu said. “We are doing everything to achieve our goal — disarming Hamas of its weapons and demilitarizing Gaza. Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel.”

The Yellow Line marks the areas where Israeli forces are continuing to operate under the Gaza ceasefire agreement: Israel controls everything to the east, north and south of the line and Hamas and other terrorists are prohibited from crossing it.
