Eisenkot Demands Likud Remove Song Accusing Him of Hiding His Left-Wing Views

Gadi Eisenkot demands Likud remove an AI-generated campaign clip accusing him of hiding left-wing views, citing election law violations.

Jerusalem, 4 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Former IDF Chief of Staff and Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot on Thursday sent a letter to Likud’s legal counsel demanding that the party remove a campaign clip portraying him as hiding his left-wing views.

The clip features a song referring to Eisenkot and Israel Beiteinu leader Avigdor Liberman that says: “There’s no shame in being left-wing; the shame is in hiding it.”

Eisenkot accused Likud of using an AI-generated video without saying so, thus presenting a fake image as real and violating Israel’s 1959 election law.

Likud responded: “There is no reason to keep hiding the truth. Eisenkot is a left-wing politician who will form a left-wing government with Yair Golan, Avigdor Liberman and the Arab parties.”

Eisenkot describes his political and security views as centrist, pragmatic and focused on national security. Critics on the right, however, accuse him of hiding left-wing positions.
