Central Elections Committee Holds Joint Security Exercise Ahead of Vote
Israel's Central Elections Committee, Shin Bet, and Police held a joint security exercise in Jerusalem to ensure election integrity and manage threats.
Jerusalem, 1 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Central Elections Committee, Israel Police, the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), and additional bodies — including the Justice Ministry, the National Cyber Directorate, the Privacy Protection Authority, and the National Security Council — held a joint exercise Wednesday featuring a range of scenarios to ensure the integrity of the democratic voting process and safeguard election purity.
The exercise focused on enhancing decision-making processes, inter-agency synchronization, and overall organizational readiness through jointly developed and executed scenarios.
Simulations addressed physical threats, improper influence attempts, and inter-agency coordination in managing these threats, highlighting key dilemmas, operational responses, and areas identified for further review and discussion.
