Jerusalem, 1 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — JERUSALEM — Israeli police launched a formal investigation into a violent attack near the village of Yasuf in central Samaria, located about 60 kilometers northeast of Tel Aviv, after dozens of Palestinians pelted Israeli civilians with stones, lightly injuring a minor.
Authorities are also investigating claims of an attempted abduction toward the village during the assault.
The incident escalated into a riot against responding Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops, who utilized live fire to disperse the crowd. officers from the Ariel Police Station alongside forensic investigators entered the site under military escort to collect physical evidence and gather witness statements.
Security forces maintain a heightened presence in the region as joint investigations into the assault and subsequent confrontation remain ongoing.
