Israel Forces Seal Palestinian Tunnel Discovered North of Jerusalem

Jerusalem, 10 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — security forces sealed a tunnel dug near the Palestinian village of Al-Jib, north of Jerusalem, the Israel Police said Thusday.

Authorities discovered the tunnel in August and later arrested a suspect carrying digging tools. An archaeological examination found that the tunnel entrance had been concealed inside an ancient cistern. Police said the tunnel was in an advanced stage of excavation when discovered.
