Dozens of Weapons and Terrorist Infrastructure Located and Dismantled in the Security Zone in Syria Over Last Three Months
Over three months, IDF soldiers dismantled terrorist infrastructure in Syria's security zone, seizing weapons and detaining operatives.
Jerusalem, 23 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Golan Heights — Soldiers from the IDF’s 228th Reserve Infantry Brigade completed a three-month operational deployment dismantling terrorist infrastructure within the security zone in southern Syria, military authorities announced.
Operating under the 210th “Bashan” Division, the brigade executed targeted ground operations to neutralize threats against Israeli territory. Troops interrogated dozens of suspects, detained multiple operatives, and seized extensive weaponry, including RPG rockets, mortar shells, and assault rifles.
Marking the end of their fifth reserve call-up, the 228th Brigade is being succeeded by the 2nd Brigade. The 210th Division remains deployed in the region to maintain operational control and protect northern border communities and Golan Heights residents.
