Jerusalem, 24 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel will switch to winter time overnight from Saturday into Sunday, October 24–25. At 2:00 a.m., clocks will be turned back one hour to 1:00 a.m., giving Israelis an extra hour of sleep.

The change means sunrise and sunset will occur earlier according to the clock. Mornings will become brighter earlier, while darkness will fall earlier in the afternoon.

Under Israel’s Time Determination Law, the country switches to winter time on the last Sunday of October each year. Winter time will remain in effect until Friday, March 26, 2027, when Israel returns to daylight saving time.

Most smartphones, computers, and internet-connected clocks should update automatically. However, Israelis should check that automatic date and time settings are enabled and that their devices use Israel’s time zone to avoid scheduling confusion Sunday morning.
