Jerusalem, 5 October, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel will switch to winter time overnight between Saturday and Sunday, October 24- 25. At 2:00 a.m. on October 25, clocks will move back one hour to 1:00 a.m., giving Israelis an extra hour of sleep.

The change follows Israel’s Time Determination Law and takes place on the last Sunday in October each year.

Most smartphones and other internet-connected devices should update automatically if automatic date and time settings are enabled and the time zone is set correctly. However, clocks in cars, ovens, microwaves and other devices may need to be adjusted manually.

The switch will also mean earlier sunsets and sunrises, with winter time remaining in effect until March 26, 2027, three days after the holiday of Purim, when Israel will return to daylight saving time.
