35 weapons were seized and two suspects were arrested: In a joint operation by security forces, a smuggling attempt was thwarted on the eastern border. Yesterday (Thursday), IDF observation posts identified findings indicating activity ahead of a smuggling attempt in the eastern border area. Following the findings, forces from the Jordan Valley Brigade, police officers from the Jordan Valley Border Unit of the Judea and Samaria District, and Border Police from Judea and Samaria operated jointly and set up ambushes in the area. During the operation, two Jericho residents in their 50s were arrested, and more than 30 pistols and two M-16 type weapons were seized. The suspects and the weapons were transferred for further investigation by the Central Unit of the Judea and Samaria District. Security forces are deployed in the eastern border area and continue to operate to thwart smuggling attempts and maintain the security of the citizens of the State of Israel.
