Surprise IDF Exercise Underway Across Judea and Samaria Ahead of the Holidays
The IDF has initiated a surprise, large-scale military exercise across Judea and Samaria to enhance readiness for the upcoming Jewish holidays.
Jerusalem, 11 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — a large-scale surprise military exercise began Friday morning across the Judea and Samaria Division as part of security forces’ preparations for the upcoming Jewish holiday period.
The IDF said all battalions in the division were mobilized to test their readiness, shorten response times, and improve troops’ operational capabilities in the field.
The exercise began in the early morning and is expected to continue through the afternoon. Security forces and military vehicles are expected to move more throughout Judea and Samaria during the exercise.
The IDF stressed that the drill was planned and is designed to practice responses to various surprise scenarios. There is no indication of a security incident. The exercise follows a series of recent drills aimed at strengthening cooperation between the IDF, other security forces, and emergency services.
