TPS: $13.2 Million Boost for Kiryat Shmona: 24/7 Emergency Clinic and ICU Ambulance
Kiryat Shmona's healthcare services are enhanced with an additional $13.2 million, establishing a 24/7 emergency clinic and an ICU ambulance.
Jerusalem, 16 September, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s government approved an additional NIS 40 million (approximately $13.2 million) for healthcare services in Kiryat Shmona, raising the total health-related budget under the government’s plan to strengthen Kiryat Shmona, Metula, and Shlomi to roughly NIS 70 million (about $23.1 million).
The move was the result of activity led by the Momentum for the North administration and the Health Ministry.
The funding will keep the city’s urgent-care hotline running through the end of 2026 and, starting January 2027, transform it into a standalone facility operating 24/7, independent of HMO clinic hours, serving all insured residents and soldiers stationed in the area.
The upgraded center will offer emergency physicians for all ages alongside X-ray and psychiatric services, while the region will also gain an additional ICU ambulance to strengthen Emergency Medical response.
